Placement Exam Options for Incoming Freshmen

Visit the Placement Exam/Credit by Examination page for additional information about exam lengths and resources allowed.

Incoming freshmen may take placement exams only once through either ProctorU or On Campus:

Option One: Remote Proctoring with ProctorU

Incoming freshmen who wish to take their placement exams before arriving to LSU may take their placement exams remotely via ProctorU. There is a $15.00 fee per exam, and students may take each placement exam only once. Please see the information below regarding the process.

1. Create a student account with ProctorU.

2. Schedule your placement exam.

Please Note: At least one (1) business day is required between scheduling and taking a placement exam through ProctorU. The LSU Testing Center office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For example: If you schedule an exam at 8:00 p.m. on Friday you will need to schedule the placement exam instance for the following Monday after 8:00 p.m. to allow the LSU staff to open access to the exam within ProctorU. If you schedule before this time, you will not have access to the exam and will need to reschedule.
